Nucleic acids store and give out information that you inherited from tour parents. Nucleotides are the monomer of nucleic acids. DNA and RNA are both important types of nucleic acids.
DNA
DNA is in the shape of a double helix. DNA is located in the nucleus of a eukaryotic cell. It is found in the cytoplasm of prokaryotic cells. DNA can also be found in mitochondria and chloroplasts.
RNA
RNA is single stranded. RNA is located in the cytoplasm but is made in the nucleus.
